True friendship isn't
about being inseparable,
it's being separated
and nothing changes.

Loneliness and solitude are two different things. When you are lonely, it is easy to delude yourself into believing that you are on the right path. Solitude is better for us, as it means being alone without feeling lonely. But eventually it is best to find a person, the person who will be your mirror. Remember, only in another person’s heart can you truly see yourself and the presence of God within you.

Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better that the one to come?

God is busy with the completion of your work, both outwardly and inwardly. He is fully occupied with you. Every human being is a work in progress that is slowly but inexorably moving towards perfection. We are each an unfinished work of art both waiting and striving to be completed. God deals with each of us separately because humanity is a fine art of skilled penmanship where every single dot is equally important for the entire picture.

Destiny doesn’t mean that your life has been strictly predetermined. Therefore, to leave everything to date and not actively contribute to the music of the universe is a sign of sheer ignorance. The music of the universe is all-pervading and it is composed on forty different levels. Your destiny is the level where you will play your tune. You might not change your instrument but how well to play is entirely in your hands.

God is a meticulous clockmaker. So precise is His order that everything on earth happens in its own time. Neither a minute late nor a minute early. And for everyone without exception, the clock works accurately. For each there is a time to love and a time to die.

This was one of the implementations that HDB has been auditing. With this, it allows the Consultant to exercise their diligence to monitor on the Contractor's works. With the uprising of feedbacks from residents, it is a good practise as to have a close supervision of the floor levelling top up screed as to minimise disputes and avoid excessive charges during their home renovations.

Where: Joo Chiat Complex.

How to get there: It’s located at Gedung Butik, level 2 near to the carpark. Ablution could be taken at the nearest toilet. They have a stall in the toilet especially to take wudhu. Yay! The fitting room of the respective Butik is used as prayer room. There is 6 stalls, equipped with sejadah, foldable chair, telekong and also slippers for ablution. Really a neat idea! May Allah bless and reward the Butik owner for providing a prayer space for shoppers. Alhamdulillah.

While planning for the biggest event of the year, it suddenly hits me when I was asked to find a friend to cover my sisters if and when they were busy. It hits me hard as I frantically scroll my friends list and to my dismay, I have plenty of friends but to call one who is truly my friend, she was no longer there.

I sat there, sobbing like a little girl who lost her pacifier. And my mum responded, "Thank Allah for He has made you have sisters."

Alhamdulillah.

Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “Envy is permitted only in two cases: A man whom Allah gives wealth, and he disposes of it rightfully, and a man to whom Allah gives knowledge which he applies and teaches it.”Al-Bukhari and Muslim

My first paper. Bismillah.

Salla-l-laahu alaa Muhammad wa aal-e Muhammad. Allahumma inni as’aluka yaa mudhakkira-l khayr wa faa’ilahu wa-l-aamimira bihi dhakir-ni maa ansaani-hi-shaytan.
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and his progeny. O Allah, I ask you, the one who mentions goodness and actualizes it and commands it, remind me of that which the shaytan makes me forget.

Death.

Death is always near. Being at the construction sites at times make me think about death. Not that I am hoping to die at work or like that, it just remind me of death when I'm underground. Or whenever they dig out the soil and you could smell, death.

Death. Death is always near.

The time has come closer and closer. It made me nervous yet excited. It's such an overwhelming feeling that you can't describe it. But all I know is that I look forward to it. Thrilled, yes. And I just want to get it over with. But for the time being, lets embrace the planning aye.

Splint

Amr was my husband, my confidant and my merciful and loving partner in life. After suddenly losing him, the loneliness I felt almost consumed me.

I was breathing a different kind of oxygen than everyone else. I was speaking a different language than friends and family. I had turned a different color, rusting and fading away. No one understood me and I understood no one. I may as well havebeen the only person on this earth.

Pain is alienating.
People often turn to skies in search for some sign, some comfort, some explosion of reason to help them understand the tragedies of life, saying: “Please help me understand. Help me relieve this pain.” When their request not immediately answered, they return to the quietude of themselves, disappointed and broken.

As a respond to this, I’ve often heard people say, “If you wonder where Allah is when you are going through pain, know that the teacher is always silent during the test.”

This statement has no merit. The truth is Allah has never been silent. He is not like the teacher who refuses to speak while the students are writing a stressful test. His words of guidance and healing are recorded in a Book that we can read any time we wish.

It is not He Who is silent. It is we who refuse to listen.

If we listened, we would know that Allah (swt) describe himself as al-Jabbar; the restorer, the Superb Comforter, the Healer of all wounds.

A word with the same Arabic root of “jabbar” is “jabeerah”, which is a splint that is used to set broken bones. Allah understands that sometimes we feel as though we are quite literally broken into pieces, troubled by rattling sounds of those loose parts within us as we walk forward in this existence. He is the only One who can restore what was once broken within us, transforming us so that our hearts are whole and sound again.

“Oh mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.” (Surah Yunoos: ayah 57)

Rasulullah (saw) used to speak about one particular person in his family. He said, “Let he who has someone that he looks up to look at who my uncle is. My uncle is Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (ra).”  Having embraced Islam at the age of 17, Sa’d (ra) was always regarded as a serious and intelligent man. Rasulullah (saw) loved Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (ra), he adored him and he counted him amongst the ten who were guaranteed Paradise. In fact Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (ra) was given the guarantee of Paradise on more than one occasion. He was given the guarantee of Paradise in the Battle of Badr. Rasulullah (saw) once guaranteed him Paradise individually.
Rasulullah (saw) gave Sa’d (ra) a very special gift and made dua to Allah SWT to accept Sa’d’s (ra) dua. Everything Sa’d (ra) would make dua for was answered by Allah SWT. Sa’d (ra) was a governor in Iraq under the Caliphate of Umar ibn Khattab (ra) and at other times he led delegations in Iraq. On once occasion someone cursed Ali (ra) in his presence and Sa’d (ra) said, “Don’t curse Ali or I will curse you.” The person continued to curse Ali (ra) and Sa’d made dua against that man. There are various narrations that say a beast of the kind never seen before came into Iraq and it stomped this man to death.
There is a special quality – amongst many – we can learn from Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (ra). He lived for a long time. He lived to see the fitnah that took place when Uthmaan (ra) was murdered and the fitnah that would follow after that. Although he was someone who was in line to become Khalifah, he decided to avoid the negativity.
